End Of Term Reflection!

  • Three favourite experiences from this term and why:
  1.  Volleyball - I really enjoyed volleyball because it was great to learn the skills of a new sport and have mini games against other teams.
  2.  Litmc - I really enjoyed the Learning In The Making Conference because it was really  fun to present workshops to younger kids in the school and attend them too!
  3.  Cross country - I really enjoyed cross country because it was a sunny warm day and I got completely covered in mud!
  • Something I have learnt:
I have learnt lots of volleyball skills e.g. dig, serve and set. I also learnt the rules of the game!
  • Something I would change from this term:
I wouldn't change anything I really enjoyed this term.
  • A goal for next term:
To strive high in all areas of my learning and finish the year with a bang!

Weekly Reflection

Volleyball Reflection!

HPC Volleyball!

For the past two weeks, Marama have been attending volleyball sessions held by year 12's at the college. During these sessions we learnt how to dig, set and serve. Marama was split into 8 different teams. I was in team 1, which was mostly made up of my learning team. Our coaches were Lewis, Gracie and Sophie.

At first I really struggled to serve, I would hit it on an angle so it would flip off to the side. But during the session today I did really well! I manged to score lots of points for my team, by serving! I was also quite good at setting (which is when you use your fingertips to set the ball over the net.) Overall I learnt lots of moves for volleyball!

Today was our last session :( I really enjoyed learning a new sport and playing it against other teams, it was a lot of fun!

Write Bingo: Article For The Plains Profile

Thames Gymsports Festival
On Thursday the 29th of June, a group of students years 4-8 from Ngatea Primary School attended the Thames Gym-sport festival. There were three levels of difficulty for the Gymnastics Competition: Twisters (Hard), Flyers (Medium) and Springers (Beginners). Our school did very well in the gymnastics area of the competition with some students placing in the top six for their age and level of difficulty. Two groups of year 7&8 students entered into the cheer-leading category. The two groups were called the NPS Minnie's and the NPS All Stars. Both of the groups placed in the top two. The NPS Minnie's came first and the NPS All Stars came second. Both groups have qualified to go to the Gym Sport Regionals held in Hamilton in August. Throughout the the day many of the NPS students were spotted showing a great attitude and sportsmanship and received a spot prize for this. We all thought it was an amazing experience and was a great opportunity to try something new and exciting!
