ANZAC Day

In World War One over 37 million people were sent to fight, 20 million were wounded and around 16 million people were killed. On Christmas Day France, Britain, Germany and Russia all stopped fighting to show respect. Nurses were also sent over to help the soldiers that were wounded. The soldiers loved ones send them mail but lots of it got sent back into the sack. In New Zealand we celebrate WWI and WWII with ANZAC Day, it is on the 25 of April it is on that day because that's when the NZ soldiers landed in Gallipoli. Anzac day is to show that we care and respect about the people who fought for us back then. This year is 100 years since they landed in Gallipoli. We celebrate it by having a dawn parade. The war was directly blamed by the victors Kaiser's Germany,  it was Germany that started the war.
